Plumber Invoicing Questions

What do I need to include on a plumber's invoice in the UK?

A UK plumber's invoice must include your name or trading name, your address, a unique invoice number, the invoice date, the customer's name and address, a description of the work done, your charges (labour and parts separately), payment terms, and your bank account details. If you are VAT-registered, you must also show your VAT number and the VAT charged. TraderInvoice includes all of these fields automatically when you create an invoice by voice.

Can I invoice as a self-employed plumber without a limited company?

Yes — sole trader plumbers can and should invoice their customers. You simply use your personal name as the business name, or a trading name if you have one. TraderInvoice works for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies equally well.

How do I charge for plumbing callouts?

Most plumbers charge a separate callout fee on top of their hourly labour rate. When creating an invoice, just mention the callout fee and hourly rate in your voice recording and TraderInvoice will break them out as separate line items on your invoice, making it clear to the customer exactly what they are paying for.
